Craig Miller

Network Administrator

Networking has always been my core passion. I've been taking networks apart to see how they work for more than fifteen years. It started with cantennas built for better Wi-Fi, a WRT54G reflashed to DD-WRT, and cracking WEP on my own router to see exactly why it was broken. From there it was small-business IT and websites through Byte Sized Tech Solutions, and these days I run networks for a living.

At home I run a lab that's bigger than it needs to be: a Fortinet security fabric at the edge, a three-node Proxmox cluster, and a Dell PowerEdge running Unraid for storage. It's where I test ideas before they go anywhere that matters, and it's where most of the write-ups on this site come from.

    Before it was a job

Building cantennas for better Wi-Fi range, reflashing a Linksys WRT54G to DD-WRT, cracking WEP on my own router to see why it was broken, and wardriving (passive mapping of nearby networks). That curiosity grew into the lab I run today.
